NIT Jamshedpur student bags record Rs 94.25 lakhs package

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur has recorded a historic placement season for the 2025-26 academic session, with a Computer Science Engineering (CSE) student securing a record annual package of ₹94.25 lakh, surpassing last year’s highest offer of ₹82 lakh.
The institute achieved an overall placement rate of 92.68 percent, with 649 out of 699 registered students securing jobs in reputed national and international companies. The overall average package stood at ₹14.23 lakh per annum.
The CSE department emerged as the top-performing branch, recording an average package of ₹29.56 lakh per annum. Out of 111 students, 104 secured placements. The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department also performed strongly, with the highest package touching ₹66.70 lakh and an average package of ₹21.50 lakh. The branch achieved a placement rate of 95.09 percent.
Civil Engineering registered the highest placement percentage among all branches at 96.55 percent, with 84 out of 87 students placed. Mechanical Engineering recorded a placement rate of 95.14 percent, while Electrical Engineering achieved 93.69 percent placements with a highest package of ₹64 lakh.
The newly introduced Engineering of Computational Mechanics branch also made a strong debut, recording a highest package of ₹46 lakh and an average package of ₹15.89 lakh.
Several leading companies participated in the placement drive, including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Adobe, Oracle, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
Institute officials said the results reflect the students’ hard work and the institute’s strong academic environment.
