Eminent senior physician Dr. Sikandar Singh from Deoghar, Jharkhand, has been selected for the prestigious IMA Doctors’ Day Award 2026. The announcement was made by the Indian Medical Association’s national headquarters in Delhi.

National Doctors’ Day is observed every year on July 1 in memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. The IMA confers this award on doctors for their selfless service and outstanding contributions to medicine.

Dr. Singh has been honoured for his long dedication to patient care, especially for the poor and underprivileged in Deoghar and surrounding areas, and for his efforts in strengthening healthcare in the region.

The award will be presented to him on July 18, 2026, at the Constitution Club of India, Delhi.

This achievement has brought pride to Deoghar and Jharkhand, with locals extending warm congratulations to Dr. Singh.
