Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay offered a chadar at the Dargah of Hazrat Qutubuddin Risaldar Baba in Doranda on Monday on the occasion of the 219th Urs-e-Pak and prayed for peace, prosperity and communal harmony in Jharkhand and the country.
Sahay said the shrine has for centuries remained a symbol of communal harmony, brotherhood, humanity and mutual respect, attracting devotees from different faiths. He described the dargah as a living example of Jharkhand’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and social unity.
During the chadar offering, prayers were also made for the welfare of farmers, a bright future for the youth and the continued peace and prosperity of the state.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Vijay Shankar Nayak said society should reject hatred and division and move forward on the path of love, brotherhood and mutual respect. He said the participation of people from different communities at the dargah reflected Jharkhand’s tradition of respecting diverse faiths and strengthening social harmony.
A large number of devotees visited the shrine during the Urs, offered chadars and paid their respects. The occasion witnessed an atmosphere of devotion, peace and brotherhood.
