Jharkhand’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls has entered its final phase, with enumeration work reaching 100 per cent completion in seven Assembly constituencies, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar announced on Saturday.
The Assembly segments that have completed the enumeration phase are 19-Koderma, 52-Chaibasa, 53-Majhgaon, 54-Jagannathpur, 55-Manoharpur, 56-Chakradharpur and 71-Kolebira. Congratulating voters, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Level Agents (BLAs), district election officials and all stakeholders associated with the exercise, the CEO said their efforts had ensured timely completion of the process.
Reviewing the ongoing SIR through a video conference with Deputy Election Officers of all districts, Ravi Kumar directed officials to complete the enumeration phase across the state by July 29 without fail.
According to official data, Jharkhand has a total of 2,64,63,236 electors in the 2026 electoral roll. Enumeration forms have been distributed to 2,63,97,006 voters, covering 99.75 per cent of the electorate. So far, 2,43,35,247 forms (91.96 per cent) have been digitised, while 2,13,04,623 signed forms have been processed and will be included in the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on August 5.
Officials identified 30,30,624 forms that could not be obtained. These include 6,61,656 deceased voters (2.5 per cent), 8,06,841 untraceable or absent voters (3.05 per cent), 12,20,570 permanently shifted voters (4.61 per cent), 3,20,745 voters already enrolled elsewhere (1.21 per cent) and 20,812 voters who refused to sign the enumeration forms (0.08 per cent).
The CEO clarified that voters residing in Jharkhand but currently enrolled in electoral rolls of other states, such as Bihar or West Bengal, can apply to transfer their names to Jharkhand during the claims and objections period after August 5 by submitting Form-8 along with the required declaration.
He also urged eligible voters whose forms remain unsigned or pending to immediately submit duly signed enumeration forms to their respective BLOs to ensure inclusion in the draft electoral roll. Ravi Kumar further instructed officials to promptly resolve complaints received through the 1950 toll-free helpline and the ECINET “Book a Call” facility, while also conducting follow-up calls to verify that grievances have been addressed satisfactorily.
