Senior BJP leader Sita Soren on Monday met Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Raj Bhavan and submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting what she described as serious developmental and governance issues in the Santhal Pargana region.
After the meeting, Sita Soren accused the state government of neglecting Santhal Pargana and failing to provide basic facilities such as education, healthcare and employment. She said the lack of essential services in Jamtara and other parts of the region was forcing people to migrate in search of better opportunities.
She also raised concerns over the recent death of a pregnant woman and her newborn at Jamtara Sadar Hospital, demanding a high-level inquiry into the incident. Soren alleged that instead of addressing public concerns, the government had registered an FIR against a BJP district president who raised the issue, accusing the administration of attempting to silence the opposition.
Questioning the state’s development claims, Soren said the government had made ambitious promises through investors’ summits held in places such as Davos and New Delhi, but alleged that there had been little visible progress on the ground. She claimed that people were being misled with exaggerated promises that had not translated into tangible development.
