Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), Dumka, has made the APAAR ID mandatory for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–30 academic session and urged applicants to verify and update their APAAR profiles before submitting online application forms through the Chancellor Portal.
With the application deadline set for July 8, the university has advised students not to wait until the last moment and to carefully review all details before making the final fee payment.
SKMU Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW) Dr. Jainendra Yadav said the APAAR ID has become a crucial component of this year’s admission process as applicants’ personal and academic details are being automatically fetched from the APAAR database to the Chancellor Portal. Any incorrect, incomplete or outdated information in the APAAR profile will be reflected in the admission form.
He advised candidates to verify details such as their name, parents’ names, date of birth, identification numbers, category and academic marks before submitting the application. The university warned that corrections become difficult after the application fee is paid, and any changes made later to the APAAR profile will not automatically update the already submitted application.
The university said discrepancies may create problems during document verification and final admission. It clarified that students would be solely responsible for errors arising from inaccurate information or failure to verify details before submitting their forms. Colleges and the university administration will not entertain requests for corrections in such cases.
SKMU also stated that applications without a valid APAAR ID or without its registration on the Chancellor Portal will be withheld until the required details are updated. Students have been urged to complete the process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
