Various student organisations have announced a march to the Jharkhand Assembly on August 7 to protest alleged paper leaks, malpractice and irregularities in JPSC, JSSC and other recruitment examinations in the state.
Representatives of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA), All India Students’ Federation (AISF) and Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha announced the programme at a press conference in Ranchi on Tuesday and outlined their key demands.
The organisations said repeated complaints of irregularities in recruitment examinations had eroded the confidence of young aspirants in the state’s recruitment system. They alleged that paper leaks and lapses in the examination process were putting the future of candidates who had prepared for the examinations through years of hard work at risk.
The student groups demanded that all competitive examinations be conducted on time in accordance with a fixed examination calendar. They also sought impartial investigations into allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities and strict legal action against those found responsible.
The organisations said stringent action was necessary to prevent recurrence of such incidents and restore the confidence of candidates in the recruitment process.
According to the organisers, a large number of students and youths from across Jharkhand are expected to participate in the Assembly march on August 7. AISA national president Neha, who has been associated with several student movements across the country, will also participate in the protest in Ranchi.
The organisations appealed to students and young people across the state to join the march, saying the agitation was aimed not only at reforming the examination system but also at safeguarding the future of youth and ensuring fairness and transparency in recruitment.
They said the movement would continue until the government takes concrete decisions on the students’ demands.
