TEDxBistupur Countdown 2026 inspires climate action through ideas and innovation
Jamshedpur
Reinforcing the message that meaningful climate action begins with individual initiative, TEDxBistupur Countdown 2026 brought together innovators, scientists, entrepreneurs, environmentalists and changemakers at the Centre for Excellence on Saturday. Organised under the theme “Flow Again”, the event focused exclusively on sustainability and climate action, encouraging participants to translate ideas into tangible solutions for a greener future.
The conference featured eight distinguished speakers from diverse fields who shared inspiring stories and practical approaches to tackling environmental challenges. Their talks underscored that building a sustainable future requires not only technological advancements but also leadership, scientific innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and active community participation.
Addressing the gathering, Everest summiteer Asmita Dorjee highlighted the importance of courage and determination, saying that every extraordinary journey begins with the willingness to take the first step. She urged the audience to embrace challenges and become active contributors to environmental conservation.
Environmental advocate Swapnil Thakur showcased how music can become a powerful medium for protecting rivers and reconnecting communities with nature. His presentation illustrated the role of art and culture in creating public awareness and inspiring collective environmental responsibility.
Science and innovation formed another key pillar of the event. Scientists Dr. Subrata Ghosh and Akshay presented practical and scalable solutions through technologies such as food dehydration and LCB Fertilizer. They demonstrated how scientific innovations can simultaneously generate livelihoods, restore soil fertility, strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Their presentations encouraged participants to think beyond conventional solutions and explore local innovations centred on soil, water conservation, renewable energy and biodiversity. They emphasised that even a single impactful idea has the potential to transform entire communities.
Other speakers, including Neelam Sarangi, Dr. Vikrant, Manoj Shekhawat and Dr. Dinesh Gupta, highlighted various dimensions of sustainability, ranging from public health and biodiversity conservation to entrepreneurship and social leadership. Together, the speakers conveyed a common message that environmental protection cannot be achieved by governments or institutions alone but requires active collaboration among educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and citizens.
The event attracted a diverse audience comprising industry leaders, representatives from educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, entrepreneurs, students and prominent citizens of Jamshedpur. Participants engaged in discussions on sustainable development and explored ways to integrate innovative ideas into everyday life.
Speaking on the occasion, TEDxBistupur Curator Gaurav Anand said the event was not merely about listening to inspiring talks but about identifying actionable pathways towards a shared future.
“Today, we did not just hear eight speakers; we witnessed eight different pathways leading towards one common goal. If every participant leaves with even one practical idea and puts it into action, together we can build a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable tomorrow,” he said.
The organisers also announced that the next TEDxBistupur Standard Event will be held on November 28, 2026.
