STUDENT’S CORNER
Kanishk Bhagat Sarkar
Friday began with a regular morning during summer vacations. Everybody was glued to the screen as if they were learning a chapter before exam. My parents were engrossed in a T.V serial while my brother was winning games on the computer.
Our house was filled with the noise of click-clack and the ambience was not very soothing. Suddenly the house went silent, which startled me! The T.V screen froze midway, my brother’s game disconnected and finally our house had some peace.
The silence was interrupted by my brother who shouted at the wifi and continuously turned it on and off but nothing seemed to work. The green light from the wifi turned red destroying all his hopes. My brother and father tried everything to get the wifi back but nothing worked.
To escape from the commotion, I went for a short stroll outside in the park. As I left my home I saw my neighbours lifting the phone as high as they could in search for signal, hence the whole street looked as if everyone was lifting their modern spears. This meant that the signal was missing in our whole block or even bigger area than that.
As I reached the park I saw people taking advantage of such a time and admiring the beauty of nature. Everyone was talking to each other and the noise of the gossips could be heard even from a distance. In some time, I left for my way back home.
As I reached home, I saw my brother studying, my mother reading a book and my father was meditating. Everyone was doing something productive because there was no distractions. After a while of productive work the wifi returned, but even then my brother decided to continue studying, my mother was so engrossed in the book that she also did not return to watching T.V and my father was having fun meditating and doing yoga.
Everyone had done productive tasks during the absence of the wifi. When the wifi dies we should not be sad, but we should be grateful for a oppurtunity where we can admire nature and do productive tasks without any distractions!
