The Glimpses of Gyanavatar Sri Yukteswarji’s Divine Wisdom

June 29, 2026

:

By Renu Singh Parmar

“Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now.”

Sri Yukteswarji, born Priya Nath Karar on 10 May 1855 in Serampur, West Bengal, is revered as a spiritual master whose life embodied discipline, humility, and wisdom. He became a disciple of Sri Lahiri Mahasaya, through whom he embraced the path of Kriya Yoga. Later, he guided Paramahansa Yogananda, whose teachings spread globally, making Yukteswarji’s influence international.

His teachings emphasized the transformative power of consistent spiritual effort, urging seekers to cultivate discipline and humility as the foundation of spiritual growth. He was known for his strict discipline, yet his compassion and divine understanding made him approachable and inspiring.

In 1894, he authored The Holy Science, a landmark text harmonizing Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. This book revealed the unity of spiritual principles across cultures, bridging philosophical divides and offering seekers a universal path to realization.

Sri Yukteswarji’s legacy rests not only on his writings but also on his profound spiritual stature. He is remembered as a guiding light in Indian spirituality, a figure whose divine wisdom continues to inspire generations on the path of self-realization.

This summary preserves the structure and flow of the original article while keeping it in clean text format. If you’d like, I can also prepare a timeline of his life or a key teachings list to make the content easier to reference.
