Traffic routes to be changed today for the main Independence Day function scheduled at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi. The entry of heavy vehicles into the city will be completely prohibited from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Additionally, ‘drop gates’ have been set up at various locations across the city to ensure smooth traffic flow. Only vehicles belonging to the Chief Minister, VVIPs, media personnel, and valid pass holders will be permitted to enter through drop gates numbered 1, 3, 7, 9, 18, 20, and 23. General vehicles must adhere to designated routes and parking arrangements.
Large vehicles arriving from Kanke to Ranchi via Bodeya will only be allowed up to Bodeya, vehicles from Chaibasa-Khunti up to Birsa Chowk and vehicles from Gumla-Simdega up to Argora and ITI Padav. Large vehicles coming from Jamshedpur will be stopped near Durga Soren Chowk and Sadabahar Chowk.
Meanwhile, large vehicles arriving from Kanke-Patratu will only be allowed up to the Law University. Vehicles traveling from Booty More to Kokar via Bariatu will be restricted to Booty More, while those traveling from Booty More to Kokar via Khelgaon will be restricted to Khelgaon Chowk.
A separate route has been made for guests attending the ceremony. The Chief Minister, High Court judges, Members of Parliament (MPs), and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will reach the venue via the VVIP entrance, passing through ATI More, Sido-Kanhu Park More, DSPMU More, and the State Guest House.
The Central and the State Government officials will reach the venue via Hotlips Chowk, ATI More, Randhir Verma Chowk and the Deputy Commissioner’s Residence Chowk. Parking for the Chief Minister’s motorcade and VVIP vehicles will be arranged behind the main stage. Other designated vehicles will be parked to the west of the main stage and in front of Bapu Vatika.
A parking area for officials’ vehicles has been designated next to Oxygen Park, located to the west of the stage. Parking for media vehicles has been designated in front of Bapu Vatika for vehicles displaying orange and green passes. Parking for general vehicles will be available in the ground opposite the TRI.
During the Independence Day celebrations, parking will be prohibited on the stretch from the Deputy Commissioner’s residence turn to the Hockey Stadium and from the Ranchi College turn to the VVIP entry gate. The traffic police have appealed to the public to use only the designated routes and parking areas to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.
