Union Minister raises students’ issue with CM Soren

June 1, 2026

Pioneer News Service, Ranchi

Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Koderma MP, Annpurna Devi, made a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi on Monday. The meeting focused on key issues regarding regional development and the future of local students especially those from Hazaribagh and Koderma regions.

The Union Minister strongly raised the grievances of thousands of students from Koderma. These students are facing academic and logistical challenges after being transferred from Vinoba Bhave University (Hazaribagh) and affiliated with the Sir J.C. Bose University (Giridih).

Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Annpurna Devi stated that this issue has been brought to the state government’s attention previously through official correspondence and meetings. She expressed full faith that, keeping the best interests of the students in mind, the state government will take a positive and decisive step forward.

Apart from the students’ grievances, the high-level meeting covered broader development goals for the state. The leaders discussed ways to ensure the effective, ground-level implementation of various central welfare schemes, particularly those under the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Additionally, detailed discussions were held on various public-centric matters to accelerate regional growth and improve citizen welfare across Jharkhand.
