Workshop on organic farming, millets held in Deoghar

A one-day workshop on organic farming and the cultivation of coarse grains (millets) was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sujani, Deoghar, on Sunday under the directives of the Jharkhand Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha. The programme aimed at creating awareness among farmers about sustainable agricultural practices and improving crop productivity.
The workshop was presided over by BJP Kisan Morcha Deoghar district president Vishwanath Rawani. Participating farmers were provided detailed information on modern agricultural techniques, methods for faster crop production and the nutritional and economic benefits of cultivating millets.
Vivek Kashyap, Director of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, imparted training on scientific farming practices and guided farmers on ways to increase productivity through sustainable methods. Vishwanath Rawani elaborated on the importance of adopting organic farming, while former MLA Narayan Das shared his views on the benefits and prospects of chemical-free agriculture. District BJP president Sachin Rawani highlighted the significance of coarse grains and encouraged farmers to diversify their crops.
Among those present were district in-charge Anjani Tiwari, district vice-president Pankaj Singh Bhadoria, district minister Manoj Mishra, BTM Shashank Shekhar, media in-charge Digambar Ramani, Pradeep Verma of the Kisan Morcha and office-bearers of the farmers’ wing. A large number of farmers participated in the workshop and interacted with experts on various aspects of organic farming and millet cultivation.
