Ranchi will host a unique Blindfold Run for Vision 2026 on August 30 to spread awareness about eye donation and encourage people to pledge their eyes. The event is being jointly organised by the Eye Donation Awareness Club, Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank, and the National Health Mission (NHM).
The campaign was officially launched at a press conference held at the residence of the State Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, who announced NHM’s full support for the initiative.
Dr. Ansari stated that Chief Minister Hemant Soren would be invited as the Chief Guest. He further announced that Mohammad Azharuddin, former India cricket captain and former Member of Parliament, is expected to attend as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharti Kashyap emphasised that the Blindfold Run is not just a symbolic event but a powerful reminder of the gift of sight. “By running blindfolded, participants will experience for a few moments the challenges faced by those without vision. Our goal is to inspire society to pledge their eyes and give the gift of sight to others,” she said.
The Blindfold Run for Vision 2026 is part of a larger campaign to make eye donation a people’s movement across Jharkhand and India.
