800 athletes participate in CISCE Zonal Basketball Tournament

Loyola School, Bistupur, successfully hosted the CISCE Zonal Basketball Tournament 2026 from June 24 to 27, bringing together 792 student athletes from 29 schools across the Jamshedpur Zone. The four-day championship featured 79 teams competing in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories, showcasing exceptional talent, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The tournament witnessed intense and closely fought matches across all age groups, with young players displaying remarkable skill, determination and discipline. The championship served as an ideal platform for budding basketball players to compete at a high level while promoting healthy competition and camaraderie among participating schools.
In the Under-14 Boys category, Hill Top School emerged as champions, while Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, finished runners-up and Gulmohur High School secured third place.
Loyola School dominated the Under-14 Girls category, clinching the championship. KPS Mango secured the runners-up position, while KPS Kadma finished third.
The host school continued its impressive performance in the Under-17 category by winning both the Boys’ and Girls’ titles. In the Boys’ event, KPS Kadma finished runners-up and Loyola School, Telco, secured third place. In the Girls’ competition, KPS Kadma claimed the runners-up position, while Carmel School finished third.
KPS Kadma lifted the Under-19 Boys championship trophy after an impressive campaign. Carmel Junior College secured the runners-up position, while Loyola School, Jamshedpur, finished third.
In the Under-19 Girls category, Loyola School once again demonstrated its dominance by winning the championship. Sacred Heart Convent School finished as runners-up, with Hill Top School securing third place.
The tournament concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony during which the winning teams were honoured with medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.
Participants, coaches and officials appreciated the competitive spirit and excellent organisation of the championship, which provided young athletes an opportunity to enhance their skills while fostering teamwork and mutual respect.
Loyola School expressed gratitude to all participating schools, coaches, referees, officials, teachers, volunteers, support staff and spectators for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the tournament.
