GAIL senior manager selected as DSP, secures 23rd rank in BPSC

Proving that determination and hard work can overcome any challenge, Shashi Kumar, a resident of Kalika Nagar on Dimna Road in Mango, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the 23rd rank in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination. With this outstanding performance, he has been selected for the prestigious post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Bihar Police Service.
Shashi Kumar’s success has become a source of pride not only for his family but also for the people of Jamshedpur and the entire Kolhan region. Since the declaration of the results, a steady stream of relatives, friends, well-wishers and local residents has been visiting his residence to congratulate him on his achievement.
What makes his accomplishment particularly inspiring is that he cleared one of the country’s most competitive examinations while continuing to work full-time. Shashi is currently serving as a Senior Manager at Maharatna public sector undertaking GAIL. Despite holding a demanding and responsible position, he remained committed to his dream of joining the administrative services and achieved success through discipline, perseverance and consistent effort.
Shashi comes from an academically accomplished family. His father, Dr. Lalan Kumar, is a PhD scholar and educationist who has always encouraged his children to pursue excellence. His mother, Prabha Devi, provided unwavering support and motivation throughout his journey.
His elder brother, Anand Kumar, is serving as Branch Manager of the State Bank of India’s Dimna Road branch in Jamshedpur, while his elder sister is a Post Graduate Teacher in Bihar, having also been selected through the BPSC examination.
Originally from Lakhisarai district in Bihar, the family has been residing in Jamshedpur for several years and has earned a distinguished reputation through its commitment to education and professional excellence.
