Steelers stun Super Kings to storm into Jharkhand T20 Final

Jamshedpur Steelers scripted the biggest upset of the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League 2026, delivering a commanding all-round performance to defeat table-toppers Koylanchal Super Kings at the JSCA International Stadium Complex and seal a place in the final.

Heading into the knockout clash, the Super Kings had been the most dominant side of the tournament, suffering just one defeat in the league stage. However, the fourth-seeded Steelers rose to the occasion, outclassing the favourites in all departments to book their berth in the title clash.

After winning the toss, Koylanchal Super Kings opted to bowl first and made early inroads, reducing Jamshedpur to 47/2 in 5.2 overs. What followed was a stunning turnaround. Player of the match Kumar Karan and Ravi Sharma launched a relentless counterattack, dismantling the opposition bowling with an unbeaten 203-run partnership for the third wicket.

Karan led the charge with a sensational 143 not out off 63 balls — the highest individual score of the tournament — while Sharma provided excellent support with an unbeaten 81 off 46 deliveries. Their efforts powered the Steelers to a formidable 250/2 in 20 overs.

For the Super Kings, Harsh Raj and Junaid Ashraf picked up a wicket each, but the bowlers endured a difficult outing.

In response, the Super Kings faltered under pressure, losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Utkarsh Singh stood tall with a brilliant 101 off just 46 balls, but received little support from the rest of the batting line-up. Robin Minz’s 14 was the only other notable contribution as the team was bowled out for 171 in 17.3 overs.

The Steelers’ bowling attack was equally impressive, with Pratik Ranjan (3/36) and MD Kounain Quraishi (3/31) leading the charge, while Aman Kumar Singh chipped in with two wickets.

Interestingly, the result mirrored the teams’ earlier league encounter, where the Super Kings had posted an identical total of 250/2 to defeat Jamshedpur. This time, however, the Steelers turned the tables in emphatic fashion, avenging that loss when it mattered most.

With this comprehensive 79-run victory, Jamshedpur Steelers have emerged as the first finalists, setting up an exciting title clash
