To ensure the effective implementation of the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 programme, training sessions for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors were organized at Town Hall, Sidhgora, and RVS School, Dimna. The programme was attended by East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Rajiv Ranjan and Jharkhand Additional Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar, who briefed trainees on the schedule, procedures and significance of the revision exercise.

Addressing the participants, Rajiv Ranjan said that the accuracy and transparency of electoral rolls form the foundation of a strong democratic system. He emphasized that BLOs and supervisors have a crucial role during the intensive revision exercise and directed them to conduct door-to-door verification, maintain prescribed forms properly and ensure that all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls with diligence and responsibility.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar said that preparing an error-free electoral roll in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines is a collective responsibility. He instructed BLOs to reach every household in their respective polling areas and strictly adhere to the Commission’s directions to ensure quality work.

During the training, participants were given detailed information on the SIR-2026 schedule, household verification procedures, filling of enumeration forms, collection of required documents, disposal of claims and objections, online entries through ECINET and electoral roll purification.

Officials informed that BLOs will conduct door-to-door verification from June 30 to July 29, 2026. During the exercise, voters will be asked to fill enumeration forms and submit necessary documents, while awareness about inclusion, correction and other electoral procedures will also be spread.

Among those present were Dhalbhum ERO-cum-SDM Arnav Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anurag Tiwary, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), master trainers, BLO supervisors and BLOs.
