BOKARO

Following the tragic fire at an animation centre and pet clinic in Aliganj, Lucknow, which claimed 15 lives, the Bokaro district administration has initiated a special safety audit of coaching institutes, tutorials, libraries, hostels, hotels and guest houses across the district.

Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has directed that the audit assess compliance with the National Building Code and fire safety norms. The review, to be completed within a week, will examine valid Fire Safety NOCs, emergency exits, evacuation arrangements, electrical safety and occupancy levels.

In a separate D.O. letter, the Deputy Commissioner has also sought a similar safety audit of coaching institutes, tutorials, libraries and hostels in the BSL township from Bokaro Steel Plant Director In-Charge Priya Ranjan.

The Deputy Commissioner said the exercise is aimed at strengthening public safety and preventing fire-related tragedies. Any violations found during the audit will be dealt with as per the rules.
