Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Collectorate to assess preparations for the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026, with a focus on ensuring a safe, smooth and well-organised pilgrimage.
The meeting reviewed security, traffic management and passenger facilities at Jasidih Junction, Deoghar Station and Baidyanath Dham Station, which witness heavy footfall during the annual pilgrimage.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to prepare a comprehensive crowd management plan to prevent stampedes and ensure 24×7 CCTV surveillance with deployment of additional security personnel. He also instructed authorities to increase ticket counters, operate special trains in coordination with the Railways, and provide adequate waiting sheds, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water and sanitation facilities.
Round-the-clock medical camps with doctors and emergency medicines, along with information and help desks for outstation devotees, will also be set up at key stations.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, railway officials and other district officers.
