Delays in Health Infra projects to attract penalties in Dumka

Deputy Commissioner Abhijit Sinha has directed officials to expedite all pending healthcare infrastructure projects under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and the 15th Finance Commission, warning of strict action against contractors responsible for delays.

Chairing a review meeting at the Collectorate, Sinha assessed the progress of projects being executed by the Building Division, Rural Development Special Division, National Rural Employment Programme (NREP) and the Zilla Parishad. He instructed officials to prioritise incomplete works and ensure completed buildings are handed over to the Health Department without delay so they can be made operational.

Emphasising a zero-tolerance approach towards poor construction quality, the Deputy Commissioner ordered penal action, including financial deductions, against agencies that fail to complete projects within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed departments to establish a robust monitoring mechanism to track progress regularly.

Reviewing projects sanctioned under the 15th Finance Commission for 2024-25 and 2025-26, Sinha instructed officials to undertake the construction of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and newly approved Health Sub-Centres (HSCs) in mission mode. He stressed timely completion of the projects to strengthen healthcare services, particularly in rural and remote areas.
