Ranchi students shine in JEE Advanced results

June 1, 2026

Pioneer News Service, Ranchi

Students from Jharkhand have delivered an impressive performance in JEE Advanced 2026, one of India’s toughest and most prestigious engineering entrance examinations. The results of JEE Advanced were declared on Sunday. Bringing pride to the state, Ranchi student Shourya Shekhar emerged as the Jharkhand topper by securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 414. Snehal Raj Singh secured the second position in the state with an AIR of 635.

Notably, both the successful students are from Khandelwal Classes, run by former IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre, KK Khandelwal.

State topper Shaurya Shekhar stated that the most crucial elements in preparing for competitive examinations are consistency and concentration. He noted that, in the present era, mobile phones have emerged as the biggest source of distraction for students. Spending excessive time on social media, ‘Reels,’ and other digital platforms adversely affects one’s studies. According to Shaurya, if students manage their time effectively and limit their mobile usage strictly to essential tasks, they can achieve significantly better results.

Meanwhile, Snehal Raj Singh, who secured the second position in the state, asserts that there are no shortcuts to success. Snehal Raj Singh, who emerged as the school topper has done his 12th from DPS Ranchi has secured All India Rank (AIR) 635 along with Category Rank 107.

He pointed out that many students mistakenly believe that studying for 12 to 14 hours a day is the sole benchmark for success; however, the reality is that the quality of study is far more important.

Other students from DPS Ranchi who performed exceptionally well include Shivam Kumar Singh (AIR 2031), Dhairya Singh (AIR 4843), Akshat Om (AIR 6640), Amir Faisal (AIR 9783), Keshav Bajaj (AIR 9790), Aditya Raj (AIR 11568), Sanskar Roy (AIR 12789), Pragyan Ranjan (AIR 12971), Shlok Modi (AIR 13363),

Meanwhile, the state-level ‘Akanksha’ program, administered by the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Government of Jharkhand, has once again demonstrated its high standards of quality. Nine students studying at the District School campus in Ranchi have brought laurels to the state by successfully clearing the JEE Advanced 2026 examination.

The list of successful students includes Shubham Kumar Barnwal, Vineet Kumar, Mahadev Mandal, Mithlesh Kumar Das, Ratan Rajak, Sumit Anish Tigga, Bishu Hembram, Monika Kujur, and Sonal Ekka. These students have achieved success by delivering outstanding performances amidst fierce competition. The Akanksha Scheme was launched by the Government of Jharkhand during the 2016-17 academic year.

Journalist’s son cracks JEE advanced, secures AIR 14,023 Bringing laurels to his family and school, Naval Singh, a student of Little Flower School, Telco, has secured an impressive All India Rank of 14,023 in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination.
