The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has allocated six newly selected Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the Jharkhand cadre based on the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, strengthening the state’s policing and law-and-order system.
According to an official notification issued on June 1 by MHA Under Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, successful candidates across the country were assigned cadres based on their rank, category, and preferences.
Of the six officers allotted to Jharkhand, two belong to the state, while four are from other states. The officers are Karan Kumar (Rank 174, Jharkhand), Kabil Bhargava (Rank 122, Delhi), Pulkit Bansal (Rank 155, Delhi), Mansi Singh (Rank 168, Uttar Pradesh), KarmveerNarwadia (Rank 795, Rajasthan, Scheduled Caste category), and Saurabh Rajendu (Rank 199, Jharkhand).
Meanwhile, two senior Jharkhand cadre IPS officers have been assigned key responsibilities in central security organisations through deputation.
IPS officer Chandan Kumar Jha (2011 batch) has been appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). His posting is seen as an important assignment in strengthening the country’s security framework.
Senior IPS officer Annepu Vijaya Lakshmi (2006 batch) has been appointed Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). After serving in several important roles in Jharkhand, she will now contribute to security planning and operations at the national level.
The appointments reflect both the induction of fresh talent into the Jharkhand Police and the growing role of Jharkhand cadre officers in key central security institutions.
