Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has launched a special drive to ensure strict compliance with SAIL’s Zero Tolerance Rules, reaffirming its commitment to workplace safety. The initiative aims to strengthen safety standards, create a safer work environment, and promote a sense of responsibility among employees and contract workers.
The campaign focuses on the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper isolation, lockout and verification before maintenance work, and adequate guarding around moving machinery. It also stresses continuous gas monitoring in gas-prone areas, compliance with safety norms for work at heights, and authorised entry into confined spaces.
Road safety guidelines, including adherence to speed limits, prohibition of mobile phone use while driving, and mandatory use of seat belts and crash helmets with chin straps, are also being strictly enforced. Violations of the Zero Tolerance Rules will attract disciplinary action.
BSL said the campaign seeks to strengthen a culture of safe work practices, with every employee encouraged to take responsibility for both personal and co-worker safety while ensuring effective implementation of the Zero Tolerance Rules across the plant.
