Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Vijay Hansda, who represents the Rajmahal Lok Sabha constituency, is set to marry Supriya Murmu on Wednesday in Ranchi, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren, cabinet ministers, legislators and senior political leaders expected to attend the celebrations.
The wedding festivities began on Tuesday with the traditional haldi and mandap ceremonies at BNR Chanakya Hotel in Ranchi. Family members, relatives and close friends, including Hansda’s mother Shanti Sarojini Murmu, participated in the rituals.
The wedding ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cathedral Church in Bahu Bazar, Ranchi, followed by a reception at 7 p.m. at BNR Chanakya near Ranchi Railway Station.
According to family members, supporters and party workers from Pakur and Sahibganj have already arrived in Ranchi to attend the celebrations. Several administrative officials are also expected to be present.
Hansda personally invited Chief Minister Hemant Soren, cabinet ministers, JMM MPs, MLAs and senior government officials to the wedding.
The bride, Supriya Murmu, is an engineering graduate. She hails from Kachhua village in Pakuria block of Pakur district, though she was raised and educated in Hazaribagh. Her father, Bhavesh Murmu, is a retired bank officer.
The wedding has generated considerable excitement among JMM workers and supporters across Pakur and Sahibganj districts.
