Rajmahal Lok Sabha MP and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Vijay Hansda married Supriya Murmu in a Christian wedding ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral Church in Ranchi on Wednesday.
The marriage was solemnised at around 11 a.m. according to Christian traditions in the presence of family members, close relatives and political leaders.
Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, along with several JMM leaders and party workers, attended the ceremony as witnesses. A wedding feast followed the church service.
A grand reception is scheduled to be held later in the evening at Chanakya BNR Hotel on Station Road in Ranchi. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, state ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior party leaders are expected to attend the reception to bless the newlyweds.
Large numbers of JMM workers and supporters from Pakur and Sahibganj districts, from the panchayat to district level, have also reached Ranchi to participate in the celebrations. Party workers were seen dancing and celebrating, with MP Vijay Hansda joining them in the festivities.
