Journalists under the banner of the Jharkhand Union of Journalists (JUJ), Bokaro district unit, on Monday paid homage to veteran journalist Arvind Sharma at a condolence meeting held at the Circuit House. The gathering observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed journalist.
District president Krishna Choudhary said Sharma was widely respected for his integrity, simplicity and commitment to public-interest journalism. He noted that Sharma’s contribution to the profession would be remembered for years and described his demise as a significant loss to the media fraternity.
The members extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the family during this difficult time.
Several journalists, including Rammurti Prasad, Manik Singh, Dharmanath Kumar, Vishwajeet Jha, Rajesh Kumar, Surendra Sawant, Kaustubh Malayaj, Chuman Kumar, Amar Poddar, Yogo Purti, Sujit Kumar, Satyapal, Mrityunjay Mishra, Manoj Sharma, Ajit Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, attended the meeting.
