Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Tadasha Mishra on Monday participated in the Eastern Regional Police Coordination Committee (ERPCC-2026) meeting held via video conferencing with the Directors General of Police of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The meeting focused on strengthening inter-state cooperation to combat organised crime, Left-Wing Extremism, narcotics trafficking, cybercrime, railway security and the implementation of the Zero FIR system.
During the meeting, the Jharkhand DGP highlighted the security challenges along the state’s borders with Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. She stressed the need for coordinated anti-Maoist operations, continuous intelligence sharing and regular inter-state coordination meetings to prevent any resurgence of extremist activities.
On narcotics control, the participating states agreed to strengthen joint check-posts, real-time intelligence sharing, coordinated investigations into trafficking networks and effective use of the NCORD portal. The meeting also emphasised action against synthetic drug networks operating across state borders.
To tackle cybercrime, the police chiefs agreed to enhance real-time data sharing, strengthen cooperation in inter-state investigations, crack down on fake SIM cards and mule bank accounts, and conduct regular joint capacity-building programmes. They also discussed creating a shared database of cybercriminals, appointing nodal officers in each state, conducting joint verification of SIM vendors and ensuring timely exchange of verification reports.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the Zero FIR system and discussed practical challenges related to inter-state transfer of cases, technical issues with the Cri-MAC portal, its integration with the CCTNS network, online case tracking and simplification of documentation required during judicial proceedings. The participating states agreed to submit recommendations to the Government of India and relevant agencies for addressing these issues.
The DGPs of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-state coordination and carrying out joint operations against organised crime, Maoist activities, drug trafficking, railway-related offences and cybercrime.
Senior officers from Jharkhand Police Headquarters, including Inspector Generals, Deputy Inspector Generals and Superintendents of Police from intelligence and operations wings, also attended the meeting.
