Mahila Samiti Bokaro celebrated Sawan Mahotsav 2026 with traditional fervour at Bokaro Club, bringing together members in vibrant green ethnic attire to mark the festive occasion. The programme commenced with the arrival and welcome of the committee’s Chairperson, Shubham Ranjan, followed by a warm reception for the guests.
The event featured colourful cultural performances led by Vice-Chairperson Sunita Bhardwaj, including Sawan-themed songs, poetry and dance presentations. A traditional Sawan swing, welcome of new members, festive songs, refreshments and a series of fun games added to the celebrations.
In the competitions, Aparna was crowned Sawan Queen, while Shalini and Amita Jha were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Chandana secured first place and Sandhya Raj second in the mehendi competition. Anita Thakur was honoured for best hairstyle, while Rupali received the Sawan Special Award. The winners were selected by the committee’s Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson.
The programme was coordinated by Secretary Richa Priyadarshini with support from office-bearers and committee members, including Alka Manwati, Devjani Mishra, Asha Dutta, Abhiruchi Priya, Sanghamitra Patra, Anisha Jha, Neetu Sunit, Asha Raj, Preeti Rajesh, Aarti Kumar, Samita Mohanty, Kalpana Verma, Yamini Shri and Rashmi.
