The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll gathered pace in Pakur Assembly constituency on Wednesday as election authorities reviewed the ongoing verification process across several polling stations, including Narottampur, Vallabhpur and Kitajhor villages.
The review focused on the progress of voter verification, scrutiny of the ASDD list, pending applications and the status of door-to-door verification being carried out by Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Meetings were also held with BLOs, BLA-2 representatives, public representatives and local residents to assess the progress of the revision exercise and address issues related to voter enrolment.
Officials stressed the need to prepare an accurate, error-free and inclusive electoral roll in line with the Election Commission of India’s guidelines. They directed field staff to ensure that all eligible citizens whose names are missing from the voter list submit the required forms at the earliest so that their names can be included in the revised electoral roll.
As part of the exercise, a special verification campaign will be conducted from July 23 to 25 for voters who could not be contacted during earlier rounds of verification. BLOs and BLA-2 representatives have been asked to carry out intensive door-to-door visits and complete all pending verification work within the stipulated deadline.
The review also covered the disposal of pending applications and verification records to ensure that the revision process remains on schedule.
