Santhal Pargana (Dumka) asserted their supremacy in state football as their Under-17 Boys’ squad stormed to a comprehensive 6-1 victory over Kolhan in the summit clash of the State-Level Subroto Cup Tournament 2026. The lopsided final victory not only handed the outfit the coveted state trophy but also punched their ticket to represent the region at the prestigious National Subroto Cup.
The champions put on a masterclass of fluidity, discipline, and sheer athletic power throughout the tournament. Controlling the tempo in every fixture, the Dumka side left little room for their rivals to maneuver, ultimately triggering widespread jubilation across the entire Santhal Pargana division following their clinical performance in the final.
Congratulating the contingent, District Education Officer Sanjeet Kumar and District Superintendent of Education Laxman Yadav commended the young athletes and their support staff, voicing strong faith in the team’s ability to shine bright on the national circuit.
Joining in the praise, key officials from the Jharkhand Education Project Council—Additional Program Officer Devesh Kumar Sinha, Assistant Program Officer Vibhash Chandra Mahto, and Area Manager Suraj Kumar Pandey—highlighted that the historic feat was a direct outcome of relentless hard work, strategic guidance, and uncompromising grit.
The core of the winning roster hailed from St. Joseph’s High School, Guhiyajori. The school management and physical education instructor Aseem Hembrom lauded the boys for bringing glory to the district, while sports lovers, teachers, and physical trainers from across the state joined in sending their blessings for the team’s national pursuit.
