Lohardaga Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena has directed all departments to achieve 100 per cent of their quarterly revenue collection targets for the 2026-27 financial year, warning that negligence in revenue collection and delays in public services would not be tolerated.
Chairing a review meeting at the Collectorate on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner instructed departments with relatively low revenue collection during the first quarter to accelerate their efforts and ensure timely achievement of targets.
Meena also carried out a comprehensive review of the Revenue Department’s functioning and expressed dissatisfaction over the large number of pending mutation cases across various circles. He separately reviewed cases pending for less than 30 days, between 30 and 90 days, and for more than 90 days, directing all Circle Officers to dispose of them within the prescribed time limits.
The meeting also reviewed offline mutation cases, land demarcation, succession and partition reports, e-Revenue Court matters, land possession certificates, public land encroachment cases, caste, income and residential certificates, the Rectification Portal, auction-related documents and other legal matters. Necessary instructions were issued to expedite the disposal of pending cases.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that caste, income and residential certificates issued under the Right to Service Act must be processed within the stipulated time frame. He warned that strict action would be taken against officials and employees responsible for delays and instructed senior officers to regularly monitor the delivery of these services during zonal inspections.
Reviewing public land encroachment cases, Meena directed Circle Officers to launch a special campaign to remove encroachments from government land in accordance with legal provisions.
He also reviewed land acquisition work related to the Kudu-Udaypura road project on National Highway-75 and instructed officials to organise special camps for the speedy disposal of pending compensation cases. He directed that compensation be paid promptly to affected landowners and that identified structures within the project area be cleared to facilitate timely road construction.
Project Director, ITDA, Sushma Neelam Soreng, Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, District Land Acquisition Officer Angarnath Swarnkar, Circle Officers and other district officials attended the meeting.
