The Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) on Tuesday staged a one-day protest near the Shaheed Manindra Nath Mandal statue at Memco More in Dhanbad in support of the ongoing student agitation in Ranchi against alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.
Dumri MLA Jairam Mahato, who led the protest, said the demonstration was aimed at boosting the morale of students demanding transparency in the recruitment process and action against those responsible for the alleged irregularities.
Addressing the gathering, Mahato said that if required, the party would intensify its agitation by marching to Ranchi and staging a protest outside the Jharkhand Assembly. He also demanded a CBI probe into the alleged examination irregularities, arguing that the state CID had lost public confidence and could not ensure an impartial investigation.
The legislator urged the state government to accept moral responsibility and ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process for aspirants. He also raised allegations regarding the functioning of recruitment agencies and the conduct of competitive examinations.
The protest was organised as a show of solidarity with students in Ranchi, who have been demanding an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations and greater transparency in the state’s recruitment process.
