Government Betraying Students, Must Reconstitute JPSC Immediately: Sandeep Verma

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Spokesperson Sandeep Verma has strongly criticized the Jharkhand Government and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), alleging negligence and corruption that have jeopardized the future of thousands of aspirants. He stated that instead of delivering justice, the government is patting itself on the back while students suffer.

Verma highlighted that the government initially claimed examinations were conducted with transparency and fairness. However, persistent student protests and public pressure led to resignations and arrests, including that of former JPSC Chairman L. Khiyangte, raising serious questions about the credibility of the commission and the government’s functioning. He questioned why irregularities and corruption in recruitment were concealed and why appointments were not halted earlier to allow impartial investigation.

He noted that nearly 22 examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC have been cancelled, yet the government has failed to clarify when they will be re-held. With JPSC currently inactive, Verma demanded immediate reconstitution of the commission and the release of a clear examination calendar to safeguard students’ futures.

Further, he criticized the government’s indifference toward education, pointing out that several key posts in the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) remain vacant, including 13 members and the Secretary, directly affecting thousands of students.

Verma urged the government to act sensitively and decisively on all student‑related matters. He called for a comprehensive and impartial probe into the alleged irregularities, recommending a CBI investigation to ensure accountability and justice.
