Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd., inaugurated a tailoring training centre at Bishnupur village under Gorawali South Panchayat in Bokaro on Friday to promote women’s skill development and livelihood opportunities.
The centre currently has 50 women enrolled in two batches for hands-on tailoring training. The programme will equip participants with skills to undertake stitching assignments, home-based work and small tailoring enterprises. Participants can potentially earn up to ₹6,000 per month after completing the training, helping supplement household incomes and strengthen financial independence.
The initiative is part of DBF’s women’s skilling programme being implemented through multiple centres across India.
Sunil Kumar Bhusari, Unit Head–Bokaro, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, said tailoring provides an accessible livelihood opportunity with low entry barriers and can be pursued within local communities. He said DBF’s skilling initiatives aim to enable more women to participate in economic activities and contribute to their families and communities.
The centre was inaugurated by Prakash Mishra, LDM, Bokaro, in the presence of Sudip Sinha, GM, DIC, Bokaro; Surina, DDM, NABARD, Bokaro; and Neha Parashar, Director, JSS, Bokaro. Sanjay Jha, HR-Head, DCBL Bokaro; Vinod Kumar Singh, Technical Head, DCBL Bokaro, other officials and Ganesh Thakur, Mukhiya and PRI representative, were also present.
