With the fourth and final Somwari of the Rajakiya Shravani Mela 2026 expected to draw a large number of Kanwariyas to Deoghar, deputed magistrates, police officers and security personnel were briefed on crowd management, traffic regulation and the smooth conduct of jalabhishek.
Senior officials stressed the need for heightened vigilance and a service-oriented approach to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the peak rush. Particular emphasis was laid on keeping queues moving continuously, preventing gaps in the lines and extending assistance to pilgrims with courtesy.
Officials were also directed to focus on effective traffic management to prevent congestion in Deoghar city and ensure the safe movement of devotees. Crowd-control arrangements are to be closely monitored, with DSP-rank officers placed in charge of designated OPs and Traffic OPs.
The briefing was held at the B.Ed. College campus, where officers and personnel deputed from outside the district were apprised of arrangements and precautions for the final Somwari. Officials noted that those deployed from outside had by now become familiar with the local conditions and were expected to coordinate closely with their respective teams.
Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena and Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar also briefed the personnel on preparations and key precautions for the day.
The arrangements are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted movement of devotees, orderly traffic and safe access to the temple for jalabhishek during the busiest phase of the month-long fair.
The District Transport Officer, District Public Relations Officer, other district-level officials, magistrates, executive engineers and police officers deployed across the mela area attended the briefing.
