The Jharkhand Flying Institute, operating under the Civil Aviation Department of the Jharkhand government, has completed the selection interview process for admission to its Diploma in Aviation and Management programme. The initiative is set to introduce employment-oriented aviation training for air hostesses, flight stewards and ground crew in the state, with training likely to commence from next month.
The selection interviews, conducted in line with the vision and guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of candidates. During the selection process, candidates were assessed on their educational qualifications, communication skills, proficiency in English, confidence, personality and interest in the aviation sector.
Officials said the selection process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner in accordance with prescribed standards.
Jharkhand Flying Institute Managing Director Captain S.P. Sinha said the aviation sector is expanding rapidly in the country, creating growing employment opportunities. He said the institute’s priority is to provide young people in Jharkhand with quality, professional training within the state and equip them with skills suited to the requirements of the aviation industry.
“Trained air hostesses, flight stewards and ground crew can find career opportunities in airlines, airports, ground handling, passenger services and aviation hospitality, among other areas,” Sinha said.
He added that the institute’s objective is not merely to provide certificates but to equip students with professional competence, communication skills, discipline, personality development and industry-oriented capabilities.
The institute has also previously started Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training, marking another step towards expanding aviation education and training opportunities in Jharkhand.
Following completion of the interview process, the first merit/preference list of selected candidates is expected to be published on the Jharkhand Flying Institute’s official website in the last week of this month. Selected candidates will be provided with information regarding admission and training through the prescribed communication channels.
