In a major administrative development, Professor Kunul Kandir, the Vice Chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), Dumka, has officially resumed her official duties after a complete recovery from her prolonged illness. Following her medical clearance, she took back the charge of the top office on Wednesday, marking her return to the administrative and academic helm of the university.
Prof. Kandir had been undergoing medical treatment at a private super-specialty hospital in Hyderabad since February this year. After a successful course of treatment and subsequent rehabilitation, she has been declared fully fit to manage her responsibilities. Immediately upon her return to the campus, she initiated briefings with senior officials to assess the ongoing developments and ensure a seamless continuation of university affairs.
During her medical leave, the Raj Bhavan Secretariat had made temporary arrangements to ensure that the functioning of the university remained unaffected. Under these transitional directives, the Vice Chancellor of Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU), Dhanbad, Professor Ram Kumar Singh, was given the additional charge of SKMU.
With Prof. Kandir’s physical return and formal resumption of office, the interim arrangement has concluded, and she has assumed full operational control over the institution. The university administration has officially communicated the development and sent a formal notification regarding her resumption of charge to the Raj Bhavan, completing the legal and administrative protocol required for the transition.
