With the state-run Shravan Mela successfully concluded, the Deoghar district administration and the Panda Dharmrakshini Sabha have begun preparations for the upcoming Bhado Mela-2026.
A coordination meeting was held at the Collectorate auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Administrator of Baba Baidyanath Temple, Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya. The meeting focused on ensuring the safety, security and convenience of devotees during the forthcoming mela.
Officials, Sardar Pandas, members of the Panda Dharmrakshini Sabha and temple clergy discussed arrangements concerning crowd management, law and order, cleanliness, healthcare, and uninterrupted electricity and water supply.
Members of the Panda Dharmrakshini Sabha thanked the district administration for the successful conduct of the Shravan Mela. They appreciated the arrangements made for devotees, including security measures, cleanliness, smooth arghya arrangements and regulation of power and water supplies along pilgrimage routes. The Sabha assured the administration of full cooperation from the Panda community during the Bhado Mela.
Bhuvaniya directed officials to ensure that no negligence occurs in providing services to devotees. Executive engineers were instructed to maintain uninterrupted electricity and potable water supplies. Additional sanitation workers and regular sanitisation were ordered for the temple complex and surrounding areas.
The Civil Surgeon was directed to ensure adequate medical facilities, health camps and ambulances. Information and Assistance Centres will also operate at key locations to provide pilgrims with route charts, arghya timings, lost-and-found assistance and other essential information.
Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar and senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.
