Chota Nagpur Royals register first win in Jharkhand T20 League

Chota Nagpur Royals secured their first win of the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League 2026 with a commanding 10-wicket victory over Dhanbad Diamonds in a rain-affected match at the JSCA International Stadium Complex on Thursday.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Dhanbad Diamonds had a shaky start, losing opener Vikash Kumar Vishal on the very first ball. Himanshu Kumar also departed early for 5 runs, leaving the team in trouble.

However, Aryaman Sen and Aditya Singh steadied the innings with a crucial 57-run partnership for the third wicket. At the time rain interrupted play, Dhanbad Diamonds were 63/2 in 7 overs, with Aryaman unbeaten on 31 off 20 balls and Aditya contributing 24 not out off 16 deliveries.

For the Royals, Ritwik M. Pathak (1/12) and Suprieyo Chakraborty (1/16) picked up one wicket each.

Following the rain delay, the target was revised to 65 runs in 5 overs under the DLS method. In response, openers Virat Singh and MD Nazim Siddiqui came out aggressively and made light work of the chase.

The duo remained unbeaten, chasing down the target in just 4.2 overs. Virat Singh led the charge with a blistering 38 not out off 15 balls, while Nazim Siddiqui supported him with a quick 23 not out off 11 deliveries.
