A five-day Srimad Bhagavatam Katha organised by ISKCON Ranchi commenced with a Bhagavat Sankalpa Mahayajna at 4 pm near Swastik ENT Hospital, Kathal More, Ranchi.
The sacred yajna was conducted by priest Sri Govindadev Das. The yajna was attended by several prominent guests from Ranchi, including Sri Ramdev Pandey, Sri Sushil Thakur, Sri Akhilesh Pandey, Dr Rajesh Kumar, Dr Soni, Dr Rakesh, Sri Birendra Tripathi, Sri Shravan Jadojia and Sri Dharmendra Tiwari. ISKCON Ranchi manager Sri Madhusudan Mukunda Das also participated in the ritual. The participants offered oblations into the sacred fire praying for the welfare, peace and prosperity of people across the world.
Following the yajna, Srimad Bhagavatam discourse was delivered by Sri Lilapurushottam Das, who spoke on the transcendental pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna from the Tenth Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam. Drawing upon the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, he urged people to shape their lives according to spiritual principles and make the best use of the rare human form of life.
Thousands of devotees and visitors attended the programme with enthusiasm and listened to the discourse. The programme concluded with the distribution of delicious prasadam among all the devotees.
The five-day spiritual programme is being organised as part of the celebrations leading up to the grand Sri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav by ISKCON Ranchi.
As part of the celebrations, a Bhajan Clubbing programme will be held on September 3 from 6 pm onwards. The grand Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebration will be held on September 4 from 4 pm to midnight. The celebration will feature cultural programmes, devotional bhajans, a grand Maha Abhishek and bhandara (prasadam distribution).
ISKCON Ranchi has invited devotees and the general public to participate in the celebrations and seek the blessings of Lord Sri Krishna.
