The voices protesting the brutal lathi-charge on students in Jharkhand continue to echo in Parliament. On Thursday, BJP MPs, led by State President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, staged a protest at the Makar Dwar of the Parliament House complex in New Delhi against the injustice faced by the students. The fight for justice for Jharkhand’s students is no longer confined within state borders, as the BJP is actively bringing their concerns from the streets to Parliament.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahu noted that students in Jharkhand have been protesting for the past 20 days. He alleged that the Congress-supported state government, along with JMM, has been selling jobs for the past seven years. He asserted that if Rahul Gandhi possesses any moral clarity, he should stop tweeting from Delhi and instead visit Jharkhand to speak with the aggrieved youth. Furthermore, he urged Rahul Gandhi to firmly demand that Chief Minister Hemant Soren order an immediate CBI probe into the student issues, and withdraw Congress’s support from the government if this demand is not met.
Sahu accused the Congress and JMM of stripping Jharkhand’s youth of their rights, while affirming that the BJP stands firmly with the students in their fight for employment and justice. He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the lathi-charge, asking why there exists a double standard regarding students in Delhi versus those in Jharkhand.
During the demonstration, BJP MPs held placards and raised slogans such as ‘The government selling JPSC-JSSC CGL seats will not stand’, ‘Hemant government resign over police brutality’, and demanded an apology from Congress to the students of Jharkhand.
Prominent MPs including Nishikant Dubey, Bidyut Baran Mahato, Dr. Pradeep Verma, B.D. Ram, Dhullu Mahato, and Manish Jaiswal were present alongside Aditya Sahu during the protest.
