AIIMS Deoghar docs, medicos participate at Yoga session

The 12th International Yoga Day was organized at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Deoghar. This year’s theme was “Yoga for Healthy Aging”, aimed at raising awareness about maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being through regular yoga practice.
The program was inaugurated by AIIMS Deoghar’s Executive Director, Professor Nitin Gangane. He emphasized the need to adopt yoga in daily life, stating that yoga not only improves health but also plays a vital role in increasing flexibility, reducing stress, and enhancing the overall quality of life. He particularly highlighted yoga’s importance in promoting healthy aging, preventing diseases, and keeping the elderly active and self-reliant.
The yoga session was conducted by Subhash Prasad, Yoga Trainer from Patanjali Hospital, Deoghar. Under his guidance, participants performed various yogasanas, pranayama, and meditation. During the session, important information was shared on the benefits of regular yoga practice, including improved heart health, better balance and mobility, enhanced mental resilience, and promoting healthy aging.
More than 200 faculty members, administrative staff, and students of AIIMS Deoghar actively participated in the event.
In another program, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Deoghar organized a special yoga session for doctors. The objective was to make physicians aware of the importance of yoga and inspire them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Yoga gurus from Patanjali Yogpeeth, Ram Naresh Pandey and Shambhu Barnwal, guided the attending doctors in various yogasanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. They also shed light on the benefits of incorporating yoga into daily life.
