Legal brains learn yoga tips on Yoga Day

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a special yoga session was organized across various institutions in the district, including the Civil Court, Central Jail, Observation Home, Old Age Home, and the Children’s Home at Dhadhkiya. Held under the aegis of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Dumka, the initiative aimed to raise awareness about physical, mental, and emotional health through yoga, while promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from judicial officers, advocates, court staff, Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs), prison officials, and inmates, alongside children and staff at the Observation Home. Trained yoga instructors guided the participants through various asanas, pranayama, meditation, and breathing exercises, while elaborating on the extensive physical and mental benefits of a regular yoga practice.
Emphasizing the holistic nature of the discipline, Sudhanshu Kumar Shashi, Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of DLSA Dumka, stated that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a comprehensive system for healthy living. He noted that yoga establishes a vital balance between the body, mind, and soul, helping to mitigate stress, anxiety, and various ailments. In the context of modern lifestyle challenges, he added, the relevance of yoga has grown exponentially, making it essential for everyone to integrate it into their daily routines.
Reflecting on the event’s success, DLSA Dumka Secretary, Vivek Kumar, remarked that yoga plays a crucial role in building a healthy society. He highlighted that such initiatives not only enhance health awareness but also instill positive life values among citizens. The program concluded successfully with all attendees taking a collective pledge to practice yoga daily and to inspire their families and communities to do the same.
