Amidst active monsoon conditions in Jharkhand, the weather pattern is set to remain unsettled over the next few days. The Meteorological Department, skies will remain cloudy across most parts of the state from August 2 to August 5, with light to moderate rainfall likely in several areas.
The Department further informed that rain accompanied by thunderstorms was also recorded in various parts of the State on August 1. Rainfall activity is expected to be relatively higher in the districts of Southern and Central Jharkhand in the coming days.
The Meteorological Department predicts a rise of 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures over the next few days. Subsequently, temperatures are likely to drop again as rainfall activity intensifies. During this period, residents may also experience humid, sultry weather. Maximum temperatures above normal levels have been recorded in several districts.
Seraikela recorded the highest temperature at 35.5 degrees Celsius followed by Chaibasa at 34.4 degrees and Jamshedpur at 34.1 degrees Celsius. The State Capital recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees above normal. A rise in minimum temperatures was also observed, contributing to persistent humidity; however, Lohardaga recorded a minimum temperature of 21.8 degrees Celsius, which was relatively lower compared to the rest of the State.
Over the past 24 hours, light rainfall was recorded in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, and Bokaro, while the weather remained dry in most other districts. During this period, the highest rainfall of 23.6 mm was recorded in Maharo, Dumka district.
Meteorologists, Abhisek Anand said that the monsoon trough is passing through Jaisalmer, southeastern Rajasthan, and adjoining areas, maintaining sufficient moisture levels in Jharkhand. Consequently, monsoon activity remains consistently active across the state.
