Ranchi is all set to turn completely devotion-filled for the first Monday (Somwari) of the auspicious month of Shravan. In anticipation of lakhs of devotees arriving to perform Jalabhishek (water offering) and seek blessings, the local administration and various temple committees have finalized extensive preparations. Special arrangements for safety, convenience, and smooth darshan have been put in place at historical landmarks, including the Pahari Mandir, the ancient Sureshwar Dham in Chutia, 21 Mahadev Dham, and other prominent Shiva temples.
Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri personally inspected Pahari Mandir to review the arrangements on-site. Directing officials to complete all logistics on time, the DC emphasized that the convenience and safety of devotees remain the administration’s top priority, reassuring the public of a smooth and hassle-free experience during the first Somwari.
The doors (pat) of the historic Pahari Mandir will open early Monday morning at 3:30 AM with the Mangla Aarti. Jalabhishek and darshan for devotees will begin from 4:00 AM.
To manage heavy crowds and enable hassle-free water offerings, the Argha (chute) system has been installed not only in the main temple but also in the Vishwanath and Mahakal temples within the complex.
The Argha will be removed in the evening, followed by a special Shringar Darshan of Lord Shiva until 9:00 PM.
Ranchi Police has deployed an additional 500 police personnel across the city. Specifically, 125 officers and constables will manage security strictly around the Pahari Mandir area. Continuous monitoring will be conducted at entry and exit routes, sensitive points, and temple premises. To facilitate crowd management and ensure a smooth flow of traffic, vehicular movement near Pahari Mandir will be temporarily restricted, and traffic diversions will be enforced.
