BJP Jharkhand Chief Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo launched a scathing attack on the recent examinations and results of PT of 14th Civil service exams declared by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), alleging that under the patronage of the State Government, the Commission has ceased to represent merit and transparency and has instead become a symbol of administrative chaos, opacity, and injustice towards the youth of Jharkhand.
He said that while only 103 vacancies were advertised for the Civil Services Examination, 2,204 candidates were declared successful for the next stage without even publishing the cut-off marks. Furthermore, the result was allegedly released without the signatures of all three Commission Members, raising serious questions over the legitimacy of the merit list. Simultaneously, in the Backlog Preliminary Examination, 832 candidates reportedly went unaccounted for, casting a serious shadow over the integrity of the entire recruitment process. “These are not mere administrative lapses but a cruel assault on the aspirations of lakhs of deserving youth,” he remarked.
Pratul said that competitive examinations in Jharkhand have now become a test not of merit, but of uncertainty, confusion, and psychological harassment. Examinations are delayed for years, and when results are finally declared, they are mired in controversy—whether due to incorrect model answers, undisclosed cut -off marks, missing signatures, or unexplained discrepancies involving hundreds of candidates. He said that under such circumstances, describing JPSC as the “Jharkhand Future Destruction Commission” or the “Jharkhand Public Examination Crisis Commission” would not be an exaggeration.
Pratul further alleged that credible reports of large-scale irregularities in the evaluation of OMR sheets have also surfaced. Referring to one such OMR sheet, he pointed out that the candidate had secured 48 marks out of 100 in the first paper. To qualify, the candidate would have had to score 97 out of 100 in the second paper. According to examination experts, such a dramatic variation is highly improbable, making the entire examination process deeply suspect.Pratul demanded the immediate cancellation of the JPSC 14th Civil Services Preliminary Examination and urged the Hemant Soren Government to recommend a CBI investigation into the examination as well as all recent controversial recruitment processes conducted by JPSC. He also demanded that the Commission make public the complete details of the cut-off marks, merit determination process, and evaluation methodology, and initiate stringent action against all officials found responsible for the alleged irregularities.
State Co-Media In-Charges Ajay Rai and Neeraj Singh were also present at the press conference.
