Ten persons with disabilities received battery-operated tricycles under a joint initiative of the Bokaro district administration and Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) at the Collectorate premises on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha distributed the tricycles and said the administration is committed to ensuring a dignified, accessible and self-reliant life for persons with disabilities. He said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to service and sensitivity.
Jha said many persons with disabilities lacking transportation were identified through the Lok Samvad (public grievance) programme over the past year. Providing battery-operated tricycles and other assistive devices to such beneficiaries remains a priority, he added.
He informed that all eligible beneficiaries on the current list have now been covered, and any newly identified eligible person will also be provided assistance on priority.
The beneficiaries thanked the district administration and BSL, saying the tricycles would make their daily lives easier and enhance their independence.
Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, IAS Probationer Arvind Radhakrishnan, CSR Nodal Officer Shakti Kumar, APRO Avinash Kumar Singh, BSL officials, including Chakraborty and Richa Kumari, were present on the occasion.
