Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has launched an Online Vendor Registration Portal as part of its ongoing efforts towards digitalisation, process simplification and greater transparency. The initiative has been undertaken by the Material Management–Registration and Vendor Rating Department in collaboration with the C&IT Department.
The new portal is aimed at making the vendor registration process simpler, faster, transparent and completely paperless, while improving operational efficiency and facilitating stakeholders. The digital platform is expected to significantly reduce the time involved in vendor registration.
Earlier, vendor registration was processed through physical files, often resulting in longer processing timelines. With the introduction of the online portal, the entire process has been streamlined, enabling eligible vendors to submit applications and required documents digitally. This will reduce manual processing, improve document management and facilitate closer monitoring of different stages of registration for timely action.
A key feature of the portal is its integration with BSL’s SAP system, which will facilitate real-time flow of registration-related data. The integration is expected to enhance data accuracy and consistency while supporting effective monitoring and smooth execution of registration-related activities.
The launch marks another step in BSL’s commitment to digital transformation, process efficiency and transparency. Besides making vendor registration more convenient and efficient, the initiative is expected to strengthen coordination and business engagement between BSL and its vendor network.
