BSL organises training programme on greenhouse gas emission reduction

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) organized a one-day training programme on the theme “Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Building a Sustainable Future” at its Human Resource Development Department in collaboration with the ECS Department. The programme aimed to enhance awareness on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, their impact, and measures for achieving sustainable development.
During the session, participants were provided detailed insights into greenhouse gas emission accounting based on the methodology prescribed by the World Steel Association. Discussions also focused on current global and national regulations, policies related to emission reduction, and the latest trends and best practices being adopted across the steel industry.
The training covered the concept of GHG emissions in the steel sector, major emission sources, and their impact on the environment, climate change, and production costs. Participants were also introduced to innovative and effective strategies that can help industries reduce emissions and improve environmental performance.
Information on various initiatives being undertaken by BSL to reduce greenhouse gas emissions was shared, along with discussions on the role and contribution expected from employees in achieving sustainability goals.
Officials and employees from different departments actively participated in the programme. The training concluded with a vote of thanks.
